You get a presant containing a rare minipet like a polar bear or panda. It is fully functional untill you logout. When you log back in, it is replaced with a message saying Aprils Fool.

April, besides having a day dedicated to immature jokes, is also ArenaNet's birthday. I would suggest giving characters their birthday presents early this year. It is the presents that are the catch...

All presents, when used, must generate some kind of internal "item id". Anet should reset the pointers to all of these presents to Rare minis - Kounavong, Panda, etc. On April 2nd, the pointers should revert to their normal state.

Since this would be limited to a limited number of characters, Anet could do the same pointer reset to all existing minis as well.

its april fools, dont hype it up, the suprise will be ruined for people that wer'nt here last year because they'll expect the gender change and it'll mean nothing to them.

I concur. This is a great idea, and definately worth the time that would be invested in said project. Gaile would also not make an appearence that day, in any town/outpost, and logs off her e-mail account. Support should do the same. As to avoid any QQers that would flood the support system complaining about such a violation. It would be golden.

I agree, my warrior is a male right now but I find females look both better and are funner to play. He/She would also be pretty hot. I like the way female's attack. Also, to add onto Nugget's comment, an everlasting one would be leet.
